A female indicted with harassing Kate McCann reportedly recorded her a voicemail message which posed: "what if I am Madeleine?"

On Monday, the court was told communication data and information obtained from phones recorded Ms Wandelt persistently requesting Madeleine's mother for a DNA test over the past two years.

Madeleine's case in 2007 - at the age of three during a vacation in Portugal - is among the most publicized child disappearance cases and continues to be open.

'I Do Not Need Money'

A separate recorded message, presented in court, recorded Ms Wandelt stating: "I understand I'm overweight and plain like Madeleine used to be, but I feel what I know."

While a separate message of Ms Wandelt's one-way conversations with Mrs McCann's voicemail expressed: "What if there is a slight possibility that I am Madeleine? What then? Wouldn't that be important for you?"

"I don't want money, I possess a life here in Poland, I only wish to understand," the message continued.

The jury was told that through emails, mobile messages and calls, Ms Wandelt demanded a DNA test, sent early photographs to her phone in a effort to demonstrate a resemblance to Mrs McCann's vanished daughter, and asserted to have "recollections" from a early life with the McCanns.

The investigator, an investigator with law enforcement who collated the information, advised the court there "didn't appear to be any replies" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt furthermore communicated with acquaintances of the McCanns, based on the phone records.

On that date, the father picked up a communication from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, stating she had "incorrect contact information."

During that incident Ms Wandelt deposited a message on Mrs McCann's answerphone stating "I won't give up and I intend to demonstrate my point."

Kate and Gerry McCann testified to the court from behind a security measure on Wednesday

The court was informed Mrs Spragg struck up a relationship through digital means with Ms Wandelt prior to joining her on a trip to the McCanns' property in the county in December 2024.

Phone records demonstrated Mrs Spragg had contacted through messaging service to Mrs McCann to say the media had depicted Ms Wandelt as "emotionally disturbed" but that she deserved to be taken seriously in the months preceding the appearance to that location, the county, in that winter.

The court learned communications between the two accused, in November 2024, planning endeavoring to obtain Mrs McCann's biological evidence from her garbage or from cutlery at a eating establishment.

"We need to assert ourselves," Mrs Spragg told Ms Wandelt.

On the occasion of the appearance to their home, the defendant transmitted a message which stated: "We are sat outside the McCanns' home with our headlights off similar to private investigators. I wanted to do this with another person I hadn't anticipated I would be involved in this with the McCanns."

The case proceeds.
